Women's Maya Angelou Portrait Socks
With seven autobiographies, multiple books of essays and poems, and several awards of recognition we couldn’t think of a better role model to feature on a sock. Maya Angelou believed in loving everybody and was deeply involved in civil rights throughout her entire adult life. Maya worked early on to raise funds for Martin Luther King Jr. and others to help fight Jim Crow brutality. She worked closely with Dr.King in the late ’60s until his untimely death.
“To love someone takes a lot of courage. So how much more is one challenged when the love is of the same sex and the laws say, ‘I forbid you from loving this person’?” - Maya Angelou
